Schools Have Radon Too

How many hours a day are you at work? How many hours a day are your kids at school?

The real danger for people is when radon is inhaled over a long period of time. When radon decays, the molecules shoot off with enough force to damage the soft tissue of the lungs…leading to radon-induced lung cancer. That’s why homes are usually the focus of concern for radon exposure. We spend much of our lives there. However, we also spend considerable time at work and school and these areas are often overlooked as potential danger spots.

We were so happy to recently help a school in Springfield mitigate their radon problem. Helping little lungs breathe safely is one of the best parts of our job!

Has your child’s school been tested recently?
